Indian Stock Market Today closed with moderate gains. Today in the opening bell stock market opened on a very flat and quite note, it was estimated and recommended by me in the morning post that Indian stock market will gain strength in the noon trading session and this happened very obviously. Mostly all sectoral indices including Health, oil, auto and gas closed positive today. Capital goods and metal remained the best performers. The Sensex closed at 17185, up 80 points from its previous close, and the Nifty shut shop at 5216, up 23 points. The CNX Midcap index was up 0.3% while the BSE Smallcap index also gained 0.3% in today's trade.
